How to Make an Hourglass Block
Place right sides together
Sewing Lines
The drawn line becomes The cutting line.
Draw a line from corner to corner on the back of the lightest fabric.
Pin the feature to the background, right sides together.
Sew 2 lines parallel to the drawn line, each ¼” away from the drawn line.
Once sewn lay your block flat. Cut diagonally in both directions. This will give you 4 pieces.
Press the seams to one side, not open.
Match 2 pieces, with fabrics opposite each other with the right sides together. Pin the middle where the seams meet exactly. Sew the pieces together..
